Hello, I’m Caz, a 47-year old mum of two girls.

I previously worked as a Chartered Biomedical Scientist, specialising in Microbiology to Masters Level, where I served the NHS for 20 years, prior to my cancer diagnosis in 2017.  The saying goes “when one door closes another opens” and with the joint support of my loving other half and family, in October 2019 Barcaldine Botanicals was born!!

The inspiration for our natural, organic, zero plastic, zero-waste products was born on the back of huge amounts of research I was doing around my cancer diagnosis. I became aware of the colossal negative impact many chemical and synthetic additives in everyday food, body products and fragrances maybe having on our health.

This - alongside our drive to minimise our plastic consumption - was the motivation behind the development of a plastic-free, organic and completely natural range of wellness body products, including hair shampoo bars, bath salts, face and body scrubs, facial oils and room fragrances.

​

How many of us throw away hundreds of plastic bottles each year? Shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, body washes, bath bubbles... the list is endless! Many of these contain harmful synthetic preservatives, dyes and fragrances that are now being attributed to many allergies and metabolic diseases. We want to provide natural alternatives to as many of these body cleansing products as we can.

 

Our products are made from natural, organic base oils and pure organic essential oils shown to enhance health & well-being. Free from harmful & toxic chemicals found in cheaper synthetic fragrances, we can safely say our products DO NOT contain phthalates, parabens, benzenes, alcohols, aldehydes, toluene, sulphates and mineral oils…Oh!! AND…WE DON'T USE PLASTIC PACKAGING!

We also DO NOT USE Palm Oil, synthetic dyes or synthetic fragrances and our products are Animal-Friendly, Bee-Friendly and Vegan-Friendly. We are also considering our carbon footprint when obtaining ingredients that we use in the manufacture of all our produce.
